4.5 out of 5 stars (4.5 / 5)

This turned out to be a great read! I was drawn in from the start and it held my interest well right up to the end. I felt completely immersed in the story, and I was flying through this one! The premise was interesting, with fae and magic potions. It really made me think about what price one should be willing to pay for a potion that can give a new ability, especially if it doesn’t last long. I usually thought the asking price was really high, yet in desperate situations I could see how someone might think it’s worth it. I really liked the characters in the book, especially Calla and Declan. I didn’t necessarily agree with some of the decisions they made, but I could also understand. Plus these are 18-year-olds with so much still to learn about themselves. I liked the romance that developed. It wasn’t necessarily a main focus, which I think was a good balance with everything else that was happening. This was truly an enjoyable read for me, and I’m really excited to read more from the author!

I was able to listen to the audiobook version of the book, and I thought it was done very well. Both of the narrators were very expressive and really brought Calla and Declan to life for me.
